Ferro silicon Nitride alloy

HOME > News
Ferro silicon nitride is a composite material of silicon nitride, iron and ferro silicon. It is usually obtained by direct nitriding of ferro silicon alloy FeSi75 at high temperature. The mass fraction of Si3N4 accounts for 75%~80%, and the mass fraction of Fe accounts for 12%. %~17%, its main phases are α-Si3N4 and β-Si3N4, in addition to some Fe3Si, a small amount of α-Fe and a very small amount of SiO2. As a new type of non-oxide refractory material, it has excellent sinterability and chemical stability, high refractoriness, low thermal expansion coefficient, excellent thermal shock resistance, high high temperature strength and thermal conductivity , and good corrosion resistance and wear resistance.

Classification
Ferro silicon nitride can be divided into two categories according to the application: ferro silicon nitride for refractory materials and ferro silicon nitride for steelmaking. Powdered ferro silicon nitride is mainly used in the plugging mud of large blast furnaces, and a small amount is used in iron trench materials or other unshaped refractory materials. Granular ferro silicon nitride is mainly used for grain-oriented silicon steel or other steel types that use nitrides to improve strength (such as HRB400 steel bars).
According to its characteristics, ferro silicon nitride for steelmaking can be divided into: ordinary ferro silicon nitride for steelmaking and high-purity ferro silicon nitride for steelmaking. Ferro silicon nitride for refractory materials can be divided into: ordinary ferro silicon nitride for refractory materials and high-purity ferro silicon nitride for refractory materials.

Applications in the field of steelmaking
In the field of steelmaking, granular ferro silicon nitride was initially used in the production of grain-oriented silicon steel, which can stably supplement a certain amount of nitrogen to molten steel. In recent years, the progress of smelting technology has led to the rapid development of the production of high-strength micro-alloyed steel. The strengthening micro-alloyed elements of steel mainly include vanadium, niobium, and titanium. The use of ferro silicon nitride is of great significance to reduce costs and increase efficiency for manufacturers of construction steel products.
